Oil painting allows for a slower development of light as reflected on form. I enjoy the slower pace. Inspiration for me most often comes from a story that more often than not has the pair of windows or eyes which allows the viewer a look at the soul.
The composition here creates a circular movement beginning with a paradise story. The bird of paradise flowering plant and the paradise of dog soul; for me, both move the viewer through the painting. One tells the story of paradise in a moment in time and the other tells the story of paradise in an equally brief period of time.
