Inclusion is an acrylic on canvas and includes a variety of papers. The idea for this piece occurred to me during the nightly news. The bedrock of our country was based on the vision of our Forefathers that we were all created equal. Their message was inclusive rather than exclusive. Their vision and their hearts were in close proximity. The cross is symbolic of the spiritual plane (vertical) and the intellectual plane (horizontal). Beauty is evident when all are recognized in equality of cultures and interests. In the chaos, we sometimes have to look closer at the original intent, and sometimes its truth boomerangs back for us to look again. At the end of the day, is Inclusion elusive?
